The German Shepherd Gala has been a successful fundraiser for German Shepherd Rescue for the past five years. Many of our guests are people who have attended in previous years and have enjoyed the event so much that they come back and bring friends and relatives with them.

We generally draw over 300 attendees for our event! Come early, stay late. This year we have a block of hotel rooms available at special rates for our guests.

Special guest Diane Dwyer (news anchor at NBC 11) has graciously donated her time as our auctioneer each year. Diane and her family are the proud owners of Truman, their own wonderful rescued German Shepherd, who came from our program. We also have special guests from police K9 units and Travis Air Force base who regularly join us to share their experiences and let us meet them and their wonderful K9 partners.

While guests sipped cocktails and visited with old and new friends, they had the opportunity to bid on a wide variety of auction items. The silent auction was followed by dinner, a very spirited live auction and the drawing for our raffle prizes. Past raffle winners have won a Tahitian vacation, an ocean crossing to England on the QE2, and large screen plasma televisions. Our guest have left with tens of thousands of dollars worth of prizes and auction items every year.

Since our adoption fees cover less than one third of the average cost of each dog we bring into our program, fundraising is critical to continuing our work. Our events have been huge successes and we've continued to exceed our fundraising goals and fund our rescue operations for another year thanks to wonderful supporters such as you.
